Some of the courses of study are organised particularly for Erasmus students, while in others foreign students join Latvian student groups. The Erasmus Coordinator Aija Melbārde will inform the students about any possible changes regarding the courses delivered to the Erasmus students by sharing the news within a certain Facebook group as well as sending the information to your e-mail addresses ASAP. However, concerning the changes in other courses of study, the Erasmus students will have to rely on the Academy’s web page http://www.lka.edu.lv/lv/akademijas-studentiem/aktualitates/. It is highly recommended that the students check this section regularly. Even though the information is published only in the Latvian language, the international students can still be up-to-date by checking whether or not the names of their lecturers are mentioned in the text. Furthermore, it is advisable that the students that the students draw their attention to which sub-programme the information refers to. The abbreviations used are the same as the ones provided by the Erasmus Coordinator as a supplement to the Erasmus student’s timetable. For example, “3 SKS Bri” means that the information refers to the 3rd year students of the “Intercultural Relations: Latvia – Britain” sub-programme. Of course, the easiest way is to use the Google Translate tool to translate a published piece of news. Nevertheless, if the result is unclear, you are most welcome to turn for help to your buddies or course mates!
If the student wishes to find a lecturer, he/she should: firstly, find out which is the department the lecturer works at; secondly, contact the department and ask about the possibility of getting in touch with the lecturer.
