Examination sessions take place at the end of each semester (i. e. in January and in June).
At the end of the last month of studies the Student has to submit the signed Registration Form confirming the attendance of the Courses of Study to the Department of International Relations and Communication. In exchange the Student receives Individual Examination forms. It is compulsory that each time the Student takes the Individual Examination Form with himself/herself when going to an examination as these are the documents where the marks for the final examinations will be recorded. If the final examination task is to be sent in electronically, the Student and the lecturer have to agree when and where the Student will be able to get the required mark and the signature written in the Individual Examination Form.
Those students who fail in a course (or semester) examination can generally try to sit it again before the closing day of the examination session; however, an examination cannot be repeated more than twice.
After the examination the student (or in an emergency case the lecturer, if the student and the lecturer have agreed so) hands in the Examination Forms to the Department of International Relations and Communication. As the Examination Forms are the only documents which are used when preparing the Transcript of Records, under no circumstances they can be damaged or get lost.
Transcript of Records
Department of International Relations and Communication of the Latvian Academy of Culture prepares and issues the Transcript of Records no longer than 4 - 5 weeks after the official end of the examination session. The Transcript of Records is given to the student personally or sent by post to the indicated address.
