The Registration Day at the Department of International Relations and Communication of the Latvian Academy of Culture is the last Friday before the official beginning of the study period. During the registration the Erasmus Coordinator prepares a lecture timetable from the courses of study chosen in the Learning Agreement. The Student should bear in mind that it might be necessary to make changes to the Learning Agreement: for example, if the chosen courses of study take place simultaneously or if the chosen course of study was cancelled due to the insufficient number of applicants. In order to register for the courses of study, the student receives a Course of Study Attendance Registration Form (detailed information see below). During the registration the Erasmus Coordinator also informs the Student about the study process, the lecture rooms, prepares a Certificate of Arrival and is ready to answer to any of the Student’s questions.
During the first 2 weeks of studies, the Student is welcome to attend any of the lectures administered at the Latvian Academy of Culture. After these 2 weeks, the student must choose and attend the courses in which he/she wishes to take his/her final exams. He/she will be evaluated and will get credit points for the completion of these courses. No later than in the third week, the Student has to approach the lecturers of the courses and inform them about his/her decision to join the course. If the lecturer has not specified the requirements for the successful completion of the course, the Student should ask him/her about the requirements. It is compulsory that the Student shows the registration form to the lecturer so that he/she could sign it. The lecturer’s signature certifies that the student has officially applied for the course of study and has chosen to take the exam in it. At the end of the month, the studentis required to submit this form to the Erasmus Coordinator (the International Office, Room 32), who will make a copy and return the form to the Student. After applying for the course of study, the Student should get the lecturer’s signature in the second half of the each new month to prove his/her attendance of the classes. The collection of signatures must be continued until the end of the study period. The Registration Form filled with all the signatures should be submitted to the Erasmus Coordinator at the end of each month.
