July 17 - July 30, 2021
The summer school courses provide an introduction into European Cultural Studies. The view of Europe from the outside is mostly dominated by economic issues. But Europe is very much defined by its history and culture. Two key aspects of this preoccupation with the European area will be offered in the summer courses.
The two-week program offers two academic courses taught online. One course deals with history, politics, and everyday life in this area and the second course approaches Europe from the artistic side and examines and analyzes the visual culture in Europe.
The courses are held by distinguished scholars with international teaching experience. The interdisciplinary lectures will lead to an understanding of European art and history.
The online courses encourage interactive participation. These courses with international participants offer the possibility to discuss European art and history with students from all over the world.
The application deadline is June 15, 2021.
More information about the univie: summer school for European Cultural Studies can be found at our website at https://shs.univie.ac.at/summer-school/european-cultural-studies-online-program/
This year UniTrento is planning to organize two face-to-face International Summer Schools designed for your upper-level Undergraduate and Graduate students.
However, this will depend on the future evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout Italy in the Spring. Proposed safety measures are currently being considered by the competent national and local authorities and we will be able to confirm both Summer Schools by the first week of May. Please note that if cancelled an on-line version will not be offered.
Meanwhile, you are welcome to nominate students by 15th April. After being nominated, students are asked to complete the on-line application by 30th April to facilitate organization of all logistical aspects.
In order to nominate a student, we ask you to please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information about the candidate/s:
After guiding nominated candidates through the on-line application, UniTrento will carry out a final screening of applicants and send an acceptance e-mail to admitted students.
All details about the format, content and admission requirements can be found through the links below:
The reduced participation cost reserved for nominated students coming from partner universities is 450 euros and includes accommodation, meals, bus pass and social activities.
Free of charge for 2 ECIU students coming from a partner University of the Network (selected among other ECIU students, on the basis of merit, academic profile and motivation letter).
Students from non-partner universities are asked to pay the full participation fee of 1,000 euros.
The Summer Schools are taught completely in English. Therefore, a minimum English level of B2 is required.
Each Summer School will be activated with a minimum of 10 participants.
At the end of each School, participants will receive an Attendance Certificate and an official UniTrento Transcript of Records certifying the number of ECTS credits awarded (more details can be found on each School’s webpage).
Tampere Summer School is intended for university and applied university students and graduates from all over the world. We welcome applications from Bachelor, Master and PhD students of all academic fields, but please remember to check course-specific requirements in the course descriptions.
To apply for the Summer School courses, the students need to fill in an online application and submit a motivation letter for the course(s) applied for. Students can be admitted up to two summer school courses. If you are applying to two or more courses, make sure that the courses do not overlap from the teaching timetable.
All Summer School applications must be submitted via an online application form (available during application period).
If you have any questions on how to fill the online form, please contact email@example.com.
The motivation letter is a short document (max. 500 words) where the students should specify why they want to take this course and how it would fit with their studies. If you apply for more than one course, you need to submit a separate motivation letter for each course applied for. There are no specific requirements on how to write the letter, but the following questions may be used as a guidance:
The motivation letter(s) will be submitted via the application form. Please use .doc/.docx, .rtf or .pdf format and name the file Lastname.Firstname_Course title.
Student selections will be made after the application period has ended. Selected applicants will receive letters of acceptance (per email) within two weeks after the application period has ended. Also non-selected applicants and students on a reserve list will be notified. Please note to check also your junk mail if the email has been filtered there by the server you are using. For those applicants who need a visa the selection is aimed to do already in the beginning of May.
Selected applicants must confirm participation and pay possible fees (instructions will be attached to the letter of acceptance) by 3 June 2021. If the confirmation has not been made by that date, the course reservation of the applicant will be cancelled.
Please note that Tampere Summer School reserves the right to cancel a course if the minimum amount of students is not reached. In case of a cancellation, applicants will be notified.

Please note that we are currently organizing both Winter Schools to be held face-to-face with students physically present in Trento. However, based on the evolution of the global COVID-19 situation later in the year, it is possible that the SuSaM Winter School will be offered in a blended format or completely on-line, but this will not be determined until early December 2020. With regard to the GETPoS Winter School, we can already confirm that it will only be held if students are able to physically attend classes in Trento and an on-line version will not be offered. Payment from the students will not be required until December 10th so as to give them time to be sure about the possibility to travel to Italy.
In addition to these, more STPs will be offered at UniTrento organized by different offices and departments with different requirements, fees and application processes. During the next few months updates can be found on our Summer and Winter Schools webpage.
Katru gadu Polijas valdība piešķir stipendijas Akadēmijas studiju specializācijas “starpkultūru sakari Latvija – Polija” studentiem dalībai vasaras poļu valodas un kultūras skolās Polijā. Šos intensīvos kursus organizē lielākās Polijas universitātes. Kursu ietvaros studenti intensīvi apgūst poļu valodu, piedalās ekskursijās uz kultūrvēsturiski nozīmīgām vietām un klausās poļu kultūrai un vēsturei veltītas lekcijas. Pateicoties Polijas valsts piešķirtajām stipendijām, šovasar divi LKA studenti piedalās intensīvajos kursos Varšavas Universitātē un Marijas Kirī – Sklodovskas Universitātē Ļubļinā.
Līdzīgu atbalstu nīderlandiešu valodu studējošajiem šogad pirmo reizi sniedz organizācija “Taalunie”. Ar šīs organizācijas gādību šovasar divas LKA studentes piedalās nīderlandiešu valodas kursos Nīderlandē un pa vienai Beļģijā (Gentē) un Ungārijā (Budapeštā).
Akadēmija izsaka pateicību Polijas Republikas Augstākās Izglītības un zinātnes ministrijai un nīderlandiešu valodā runājošo zemju organizācijai “Taalunie” par stipendiju piešķiršanu LKA studentiem.
Akadēmija jau vairākus gadus piedalās Lietuvas Mūzikas un teātra akadēmijas vadītajā konsorcijā, ik gadu nodrošinot LKA studentiem bezmaksas dalību darbnīcā, izmitināšanu un ēdināšanu, un iespēju papildināt savas zināšanas un piedalīties īsfilmu uzņemšanā starptautiskās filmēšanās grupās gleznainajos Kuršu kāpu plenēros.
2015. gada darbnīcas tēma: „Filmu montāžas filozofija”. Darbnīcu vada starptautiski atzīti profesionāļi: Rufats Hasanovs, Kristina Buožite un Tomass Rugiss.
Vairāk informācijas par darbnīcu: http://summermediastudio.lt/.
LKA dalību konsorcijā finansiāli atbalsta Valsts Kultūrkapitāla fonds.
