ERASMUS students share their cultures at the International Dinner

06.10.2025

On the 26th of September, the Latvian Academy of Culture and the Student Council hosted an International Dinner for incoming Erasmus students to share their country’s traditional dishes and cultural heritage.

Fifteen international students from 5 different countries and ten Latvian buddies, and the LAC Student Council’s members came together to present their cultures, traditions, and delicious food.

This semester’s dinner table, compared to other years, was smaller but just as abundant with food that was carefully prepared and shared with others. The students were creative and worked hard to ensure that the dishes truly represented the food they encounter in their home countries. The event highlighted the importance of sharing and celebrating each student’s unique heritage.

This time, students had the chance to truly enjoy the diverse German cuisine, with pasta salad, vegetable and mushroom soup, pretzels with traditional sauce, quiche, and chocolate and cookie cake. We tasted special pancakes from Slovakia, various quiches from France, and our favourite Latvian rosols with a catch. For dessert, we savoured authentic Italian tiramisu, French crêpes, and baklava from Turkey. Everyone went home with a full stomach and a satisfied smile on their face.
