Ideas, Collaboration and Innovation in the Cultural and Creative Industries

On 28 February, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Creative Industries Representation of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, a meeting took place to discuss the development of the cultural and creative industries in Europe.


The event featured presentations by experts from Finland. Kati Uusi-Rauva spoke about the evolution of support mechanisms for the creative industries in Europe, while Kriista Petäjäjärvi shared insights on cooperation within the creative sector to foster a sustainable future.

Dr. Ieva Zemīte, Head of the ACE²-EU SPACE Centre at the Latvian Academy of Culture, highlighted the role of the academy in advancing the creative industries. She also introduced the work of the SPACE Centre and its mission to strengthen the links between society and the creative industries in order to co-create innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.

The event emphasized the importance of collaboration, sustainability, and the academic sector’s contribution to the future of creative fields. The SPACE Centre was recognized as a key platform connecting entrepreneurship and research, fostering the development of interdisciplinary knowledge and innovative products.

The Centre for Social Partnerships and Cultural Engagement (SPACE Centre) is a key pillar of the ACE²-EUEuropean University Alliance. It plays a vital role in promoting societal engagement and cultural understanding, while facilitating collaboration with external stakeholders. Through this work, the centre supports inclusion and contributes to strengthening European identity through cultural exchange.
