LAC Students to Participate in the First ACE²-EU European University Alliance Festival “Kaleidoscope Culture Festival”

09.10.2025

From 22 to 24 October, Ingolstadt, Germany, will host the “Kaleidoscope Culture Festival“– an international cultural event bringing together students, teachers, and partners from the European University Alliance ACE²-EU member institutions. The festival will celebrate cultural diversity, creativity, and collaboration – the uniting spirit of the Alliance community – under the theme “The Voices of Europe Today.”

The Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) is one of the main organisers of the festival, actively contributing to the programme’s design and the implementation of creative activities together with partners from other Alliance universities.

Over the course of three days, the festival will feature a wide range of events – workshops, performances, exhibitions, concerts, and interactive experiences – where students will share their cultural perspectives and creative visions, fostering dialogue between artistic traditions from different European countries. LAC students will represent Latvia in several creative activities, introducing participants to the diversity of Latvian culture, its traditions, and contemporary interpretations.

In the workshop programme, LAC students Marta Vilde and Anete Puniņa will invite participants to experience Latvia through the five senses – smell, taste, sound, sight, and touch – in their session “Discover Latvia Through the Five Senses.” Meanwhile, Una Žeimunte, Laila Ozola, and Vendija Kokare will lead an interactive workshop “Latvian Children’s Games”, where participants will learn and play traditional Latvian yard games, exploring their social and cultural meaning.

LAC Master’s student and choreographer Sintija Skrabe will present her contemporary dance performance “Among Us” in the performance section of the festival – a philosophical and poetic reflection on human communication and the limits of expression. In the evening, the LAC student team – Sigita Urlovska, Marta Kātiņa, Roberta Vītoliņa, Fēlikss Siliņš, and Jēkabs Jostsons – will host a cultural quiz “ArteFactum”, where participants will test their knowledge and insight into European art, cinema, and creative industries.

LAC’s long-term partner, Ieva Niedre, Chair of the Board of the Initium Foundation and theatre practitioner, will lead the workshop “The Common Stage: Applied Theatre Basics for Creating Communities.” The session will focus on applied theatre methods for community building and intercultural dialogue, encouraging participants to see art as a tool for social cohesion and the development of sustainable communities.

The festival will bring together representatives from Latvian Academy of Culture (Latvia), Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (Germany), Instituto Politécnico de Santarém (Portugal), Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Spain), Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu (Romania), Goce Delčev University in Štip (North Macedonia), Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny (Poland), and Lietuvos Inžinerijos Kolegija (Lithuania).

The festival will conclude with a joint concert programme “United in Art,” featuring musical, dance, and theatre performances by students from across the Alliance, as well as the ACE²-EU Congress, where partners will reflect on the achievements of the collaboration so far and outline future initiatives in the fields of culture and education.
