Second ACE²-EU Networking Event “ACEploration” Held in Portugal in Early July
One week ago, from 3 to 4 July 2025, the second networking event of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU – “ACEploration” – took place at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém in Portugal, bringing together representatives from nine alliance universities. The Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) was represented by Ieva Vītola, leading researcher at the LAC Institute of Arts and Culture, and project manager Rasa Laua.
During the event, participants focused on developing joint short-term learning opportunities for students of the Alliance institutions. Throughout the “ACEploration” working sessions, 18 proposals were created. Over the course of two intensive days, international teams engaged in discussions on the content and structure of study programmes, target audiences, teaching methods, and expected outcomes.
Together with partner institutions from Spain, Romania, and Portugal, the Latvian Academy of Culture co-developed a proposal for a joint programme titled “Taste of Culture – Cultural Heritage in Transition: Sustaining Traditional Products in the 21st century”, as part of the ABC – Applied Blended Challenge Programme. Additionally, LAC joined three other proposed programmes as a partner.
The joint short-term learning programme is expected to be implemented during the spring and autumn semesters of 2026. All students will be welcome to participate and make the most of this unique opportunity! Stay tuned for more updates and offers from ACE²-EU!
