SPACE Centre invites organisations and experts in the field of gender equity to participate in the Social Impactors Knowledge Creation Team Workshops

05.03.2026

From April 27–29, 2026, the first Knowledge Creation Team Workshops on Gender Equity will take place at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC). It is organized within the framework of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU and will bring together students, academic staff, and external partners from the alliance’s nine universities to jointly analyze challenges, share experiences, and outline directions for future cooperation. SPACE Centre invites organizations working in gender equity to participate in the Social Impact Think Tank workshops, develop new collaborations, and expand their professional networks.

Knowledge Creation Team Workshops are collaborative sessions in which university staff, students, and external partners share their experience and knowledge on specific Social Impactors topics. Their aim is to jointly create practically applicable knowledge and solutions to strengthen gender equity by combining academic, civil society, and professional experience. Participation in the workshops offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of international knowledge, develop joint project ideas with universities and international partners, and share experiences and examples of good practice. Applications for the workshops are open until March 16 by contacting Asnāte Kalēja at asnate.kaleja@lka.edu.lv

What is the SPACE Centre?

LAC is part of the European University Alliance ACE2-EU and, together with eight partner universities, aims to provide students, lecturers, researchers, and external stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and competences needed to address future challenges collaboratively. Within the alliance, LAC is responsible for the “Societal Partnerships and Cultural Engagement Centre” (SPACE Centre).

Its goal is to promote cooperation with external partners, fostering sustainable societal change and strengthening the connection between universities and society – public institutions, NGOs, and the business sector. The Centre supports the creation of sustainable social solutions and develops a shared platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge. By combining the competencies of partner universities, the SPACE Centre strengthens its impact at the institutional and societal levels, promoting long-term change.

What are Social Impactors?

Social Impactors (SI) bring together professors, researchers, students, industry professionals, and other key partners from the alliance’s universities in interdisciplinary knowledge teams. Their task is to build and further develop the alliance’s knowledge to address socio-economic challenges and to strengthen cooperation with external partners to promote societal well-being.

During the first year of the alliance’s activities, a shared conceptual understanding of Social Impactors was developed, structured around four thematic areas:

· Culture & Diversity

· Social Well-Being

· Respect & Dignity

· Gender Equity
