The third ACE²-EU academic networking event “ACEploration” took place in North Macedonia
On 17-18 November, the European University Alliance ACE²-EU held the academic networking event “ACEploration” at Goce Delcev University in North Macedonia, gathering participants from across the Alliance, including visiting lecturer Rūdolfs Kivlenieks and SPACE Centre coordinator Asnāte Kalēja from the Latvian Academy of Culture.
The two-day event focused on enhancing research collaboration and promoting innovation with the goal of creating joint interdisciplinary short-term study programs for students on contemporary societal and security issues. The main theme of the event was “Safety and Security for a Resilient and Inclusive Society”. The work was organised around three subthemes: a safe and inclusive society; physical and digital security for innovation and a resilient Europe; and climate and environmental protection.
During the event, the LAC team strengthened cooperation with partners from North Macedonia by developing initial concepts for study programmes in areas such as climate neutrality and sustainable universities, the challenges of fast fashion and the preservation of sustainable cultural values, as well as the protection of cultural heritage in crisis.
The jointly developed short-term study programmes are planned to be implemented in the spring and autumn semesters of 2026, inviting students from all Alliance universities to participate.
