Since 2018 the Latvian Academy of Culture has become a member organisation of the NORTEAS platform. NORTEAS is a Nordplus network of Nordic and Baltic Performing Arts institutions in higher education with 17 member organisations. NORTEAS encourages students and teachers to seek innovation and new approaches to the already established practices through the exchange of knowledge, experience and visions on contemporary performing arts and education. The platform’s aim is to network and develop international cooperation and teaching of Theatre and Dance in the Nordic-Baltic area. One of the NORTEAS activities is The Nordic Common studies programme. In this activity the network chooses a week each year, where the participating schools swop their students and experiment with teaching and sharing of methods and experiences in an international context.
As a full-fledged member of NORTEAS the Latvian Academy of Culture will be eligible to take part in all of the platform’s activities and use funding for student and teacher mobility.
