Partners: Cultural heritage management authorities and organisations from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Åland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Sami Region, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia (until 24 February 2022). The research was carried out by the University of Tartu and the Latvian Academy of Culture, UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage Policy and Law.

The aim of the research strand of the LIVIND project was to identify how living heritage can contribute to sustainable development in the Nothern Dimension region. The research led to the identification and development of advice on how to strengthen the role of living heritage as a resource for sustainable development by bringing together stakeholders from public administration, non-governmental and private sectors in nine countries in the Nothern Dimension region.
