08.09.2026

The 7th Spanish Film Festival will take place from 15 to 29 September at the Latvian Academy of Culture’s National Film School Pavilion (58A Miera Street). The festival invites audiences to discover Spanish films in their original language, with English subtitles. This year’s programme features three award-winning films from different genres, all of which have been recognised at prestigious film festivals. Admission is free.

The festival is organised by Ana León-Manzanero, Associate Professor in the Department of Intercultural Communication and Foreign Languages at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC), in collaboration with Jānis Putniņš, Creative Director of the National Film School. The festival is supported by the Embassy of Spain in Latvia and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Visiting Lecturer Isabel Rodríguez Pisano and first-year students from the Bachelor’s programme in Latvia–Spain Intercultural Relations are also contributing to the preparation and delivery of the festival.
