SPACE Centre invites cultural and social organisations to co-develop an international student volunteering programme
The Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC), together with partner universities within the ACE²-EU European University Alliance, is developing a new volunteering programme that will give students the opportunity, starting from January 2026, to engage in volunteer work in one of the alliance countries – Poland, Lithuania, Romania, North Macedonia, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Germany.
Each year, LAC will host eight international and two LAC students for one-week volunteering placements in various Latvian cultural and social organisations, creating meaningful opportunities for work and experience exchange. Each organisation is expected to host two to three student volunteers, who will provide support in both project implementation and daily activities.
Organisations invited to join the programme include:
•Cultural organisations – arts centres, festival organisers, NGOs and others wishing to offer students from across Europe insights into Latvia’s cultural life.
•Social sector organisations – those working on social projects and creating social impact in fields such as inclusion and multiculturalism, social well-being, dignity and respect, and gender equality.
The programme foresees four volunteering opportunities per year, with an 8-day mobility period for students from alliance universities.
This initiative offers organisations a chance to become part of a European-scale educational and social development effort, explore new forms of collaboration, and strengthen international visibility.
