SPACE Centre Team Visits Târgu Jiu in Preparation for ACE2-EU Festival “Cultural Kaleidoscope 2026”

11.06.2026

From June 8 to 10, in Târgu Jiu, Romania, the first in-person meeting took place within the framework of the SPACE Centre initiative, led by the Latvian Academy of Culture, to jointly plan the second European Universities Alliance ACE2-EU festival “Culture Kaleidoscope.” This year, the festival will take place from October 28 to 30 at Constantin Brâncuși University (Universitatea Constantin Brâncuși) in Târgu Jiu, offering the theme “100 Voices – One Future.”

During the visit, representatives of the Latvian Academy of Culture familiarized themselves with the university’s infrastructure and technical facilities, worked on further developing the festival programme, strengthened cooperation with partners, and explored the historical and cultural heritage of both the university and the city.

The now-traditional “Culture Kaleidoscope” festival is one of the most significant cultural events of the alliance, bringing together students, academic staff, and partners from alliance universities each year to celebrate the traditions, languages, identities, and artistic creativity of their countries and regions from literature and performing arts to cuisine, music, sports, and storytelling.

Twelve students from each partner university participate in the festival both as programme participants and as content creators and implementers of initiatives.
