Latvian Academy of Culture Delegation Participates in ACE²-EU Working Meetings in Santarém
Representatives of the nine universities of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance gathered in Santarém, Portugal, this week to advance the development of new joint international Master’s programmes and shared quality assurance standards across the Alliance. From 29 September to 1 October, a delegation from the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) actively contributed to strategic discussions and practical working sessions whose outcomes will shape the further development of joint education and pedagogical cooperation within ACE²-EU.
Over the course of three days, two parallel working formats took place: the ACE²-EU Work Package 2 APP Factory meeting, focusing on the development of joint Master’s programmes and preparations for the Pedagogical Conference, and a workshop dedicated to developing a common quality assurance policy and framework for the Alliance.
The Latvian Academy of Culture was represented in Santarém by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Agnese Hermane, Vice-Rector for Studies Elīna Šmaukstele, Director of the Study Department Dana Daugule, ACE²-EU Work Package 2 Coordinator Baiba Freimane, and Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Studies Paula Tāre.
During three intensive working days, representatives of the nine ACE²-EU partner universities worked together in discussions and international working groups on several key issues related to the development of the Alliance’s common educational space.
The ACE²-EU Work Package 2 APP Factory meeting focused on the development of joint Master’s programmes, including their structure, intended learning outcomes and graduate competences, curriculum content, allocation of ECTS credits, and student mobility opportunities. At the same time, the partners worked on the content and organisational aspects of the ACE²-EU Pedagogical Conference. The conference is planned to take place in Madrid in January 2027 and will bring together education professionals and experts from across Europe.
In parallel, the quality assurance workshop focused on developing a common ACE²-EU quality assurance framework. Alliance partners worked to align shared principles and procedures for the implementation of different educational activities across ACE²-EU – ranging from Micro Learning Opportunities and Blended Intensive Programmes to Joint Degree Programmes.
