Latvian Academy of Culture Welcomes the First ACE²-EU ACE RISE Volunteers
From 11 to 18 May, the Latvian Academy of Culture is hosting two students from the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, who are participating in the European University Alliance ACE²-EU international volunteering programme ACE RISE (Reach, Inspire, Serve, Engage). During their visit, the students will take part in activities organised by the partner organisation Active Rainbow, gaining experience in an intercultural environment and contributing to socially meaningful initiatives.
In cooperation with Active Rainbow, the volunteers will participate in the development of several activities, including the organisation of a queer museum initiative, as well as coordinating art and self-expression workshops together with local artists. These activities aim to promote social inclusion, acceptance of diversity, and active youth participation in society. Active Rainbow operates as an educational platform and community, placing particular emphasis on supporting young people at risk of social exclusion. The organisation promotes awareness of human rights, LGBT+ community issues, and the role of non-formal education in fostering an inclusive and participatory society.
The ACE RISE programme has been developed by the SPACE Centre team in collaboration with partners, providing students with an opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteering activities within an international environment.
