Final ACE²-EU ACEploration Networking Event Concludes

06.07.2026

On 1–2 July, the final ACEploration networking event for academic staff of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance took place at the Technical University of Ingolstadt in Ingolstadt, Germany. Representatives of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) participated alongside academic staff and experts from all nine ACE²-EU partner universities. The event marked the conclusion of the nine-mission ACEploration series, bringing together participants to co-create new international study initiatives, establish partnerships, and develop innovative solutions for higher education.

The central theme of this ACEploration mission was Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in higher education, research, and innovation. Participants collaboratively developed international learning initiatives aimed at strengthening AI-related competences, fostering critical thinking, and promoting the responsible use of AI across different fields. Particular attention was given to the application of generative AI in education and the creative industries, as well as to ethical considerations, copyright, data security, and human–AI collaboration in innovation.

The Latvian Academy of Culture was represented by guest lecturer, entrepreneur, and AI innovation expert Kristaps Cīrulis, together with Kristaps Opincāns, Research Assistant, doctoral candidate, and lecturer at the LAC Institute of Arts and Cultural Studies.

During the mission, the LAC team presented three proposals for international collaboration: two micro-credential courses and the concept of an international Impactathon. The Impactathon will focus on the creation of AI-generated films and is planned to take place in autumn 2027 at the Latvian Academy of Culture during the international festival Kaleidoscope. All initiatives have been developed in cooperation with ACE²-EU partner universities to promote interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and knowledge transfer.

Participation in the final ACEploration mission demonstrates the Latvian Academy of Culture's active engagement in the ACE²-EU European University Alliance and its continued commitment to developing innovative, internationally oriented learning opportunities, further strengthening the Academy's role within the European Higher Education Area.
