ACE2-EU Alliance Kick-Off event in Madrid: project participants develop action plans for the next phases of the project

From 9 to 11 December, the Kick-Off event of the European University Alliance ACE2-EU took place at Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid, bringing together representatives of the nine partner universities of the Alliance, which aims to create a cooperation platform for students, researchers and the public. The Kick-Off event was organised at the highest level, involving representatives from all partner universities and providing an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and represent the Alliance at an international level.

LAC Production and Marketing Department team visits the Contemporary Circus Festival LEME in Portugal

From 5 to 8 December, the Contemporary Circus Festival LEME took place in Iljavo, Portugal, focusing on artistic creativity, performances in an unconventional space, as well as networking among professionals. In 2024, the festival focused on the concept of “common space”, highlighting the audience as an essential element of the artistic experience. The festival was attended by around 140 performing arts professionals, including the team of the Production and Marketing Department of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) - Kristīne Freiberga, Aija Lūse, Elza Strazdiņa, Ance Bergmane and Oskars Vītoliņš.

Latvian Academy of Culture participates in the kick-off event of the European University Alliance ACE2-EU in Spain

From 9 to 11 December, the kick-off event of the European University Alliance ACE2-EU takes place at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, Spain. The Latvian Academy of Culture is represented by the Rector Dāvis Sīmanis, the Vice-Rector of Studies Agnese Hermane, and representatives of the ACE2-EU Working Group Ilona Kunda, Ieva Zemite, Ilze Beimane, Signe Bahšteina and Aija Lūse. The event officially launches the cooperation of nine leading European universities through joint initiatives in research, international mobility and education.

Call for submissions for the thematic issue of Culture Crossroads on the social and economic impact of culture

Researchers are invited to submit papers for the thematic issue of Culture Crossroads on issues related to the social and economic impact of culture. The issue will continue the discussion on the issues and methodologies of impact assessment in the cultural and creative industries (CCI) – which was initiated during the thematic session "How to Make Visible? Assessing Social And Economic Impact In Creative And Cultural Industries" within the framework of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) conference series "Cultural Crossroads XVIII" in autumn this year.
